UpNorth Distribution came to Alkalyne with a logo and a vision — and needed everything else. Over the course of our relationship we built out their entire brand presence from the ground up, developing a cohesive visual identity, a consumer-facing website, product packaging across multiple SKUs, branded merchandise, and a complete sub-brand. Every deliverable was designed to feel like it belonged to the same world — distinct, premium, and unmistakably UpNorth.

Brand Identity

Starting With a Logo. Building a World.

UpNorth came to us with an existing logo — our job was to take that mark and extrapolate an entire visual system from it. We defined the color palette, typography, graphic language, and overall aesthetic that would carry the brand across every touchpoint. The result was a cohesive identity that felt intentional and premium whether it appeared on a website, a product, or a piece of apparel.

A Website Built for the Brand

We designed and developed UpNorth's consumer-facing website — built to match the premium aesthetic of the brand and give their products a proper digital home. The site reflected the same visual language established across their other brand touchpoints, creating a consistent experience from the moment a visitor landed on the page.

We developed packaging layouts across multiple product lines for UpNorth — each one designed to stand out on the shelf while staying true to the brand's established aesthetic. Every packaging format presented its own set of constraints and opportunities, and every one was designed to feel like a premium product worth picking up.

Daze Off

A Brand Within a Brand

Alongside the core UpNorth identity, we developed Daze Off — a sub-brand created, owned, and distributed by UpNorth under their own umbrella. Daze Off called for its own distinct visual world, separate from the parent brand. We leaned into a Miami-influenced, vaporwave-inflected aesthetic — bold gradients, retro typography, and a look that felt deliberately different from anything else in the space. We handled the logo, packaging, and full visual identity for Daze Off from concept through final delivery.

Collaboration

Where Streetwear Meets Cannabis Culture

One of the standout moments of our work with UpNorth was orchestrating a collaboration with Grassroots California — one of the most respected names in fitted headwear. The result was a limited-edition collection featuring a custom flat bill fitted hat and a reversible zip hoodie, both designed exclusively for the collab. We handled the creative direction and design for both pieces, bringing the UpNorth brand into the streetwear space in a way that felt authentic to both partners.

On-Brand From Every Angle

Rounding out the UpNorth brand ecosystem was a suite of print materials and swag — business cards, brochures, and other collateral designed to carry the same premium feel as every other brand touchpoint. No detail was too small to get right.

Getting Close to the Product

Beyond design, we handled macro photography for UpNorth — capturing their products in detail for use across their website, packaging, and marketing materials. Having photography handled in-house alongside the design work meant everything was shot with the brand's visual language already in mind, resulting in imagery that felt cohesive and intentional across every touchpoint.
